100 Happy Days Link Up #4

Hi Friends!

We are so excited you are joining the 100 Happy Days Link Up. If you would like to know a little more about how this party got started we would love for you to check it out.

Here are a few things that have made me happy this week:

  1. Ponies! On Saturday my Momma, the kids and I went to pick up two ponies. It is so refreshing to have new faces in the barn and it makes me so happy to begin the “horse life” with my children. There is no better life 🙂
  2. My Dad’s and Eric’s birthday are this week! I am so blessed to have such wonderful men in my life. I am so thankful for them. Happy Birthday Daddy and Eric! I love you both!
  3. A mid-week break. I really enjoyed spending Veteran’s Day with my babies. We groomed ponies, spread rye grass seed, planted some mums, and painted toe nails. But most importantly, we thought, talked about and prayed for the men and women (and their families) who scarifies for our beautiful country. Thank you for your service!
  4. Lastly. Beautiful, clear blue skies and sunshine make me happy! It has been rainy and gloomy here for the past week. It was so great to see the sun and some slightly fallish weather.

I hope you have been seeking out the happy in your days 🙂

Teaching Thankfulness

Slide1While being thankful shouldn’t only occur during the month of November, I do find it to be a great time to talk about thankfulness with my children. So often all I hear is I want, I want, I want… and truthfully, I find myself lost in the same thoughts. But what about all that we already have?! Our gracious God is the giver of all things and he desires us to be content in what we have. Not only content, but thankful.

-Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17-

This month PG and I are getting intentional about our thankfulness. I created little “I am Thankful or you because…” cards and each day I sit down with her and she chooses one person the is thankful for. I ask her why she is thankful for him or her and I write it on the card. My plan is to mail these cards or hand deliver if possible. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with; 3.5 year olds really have a way with words 🙂 I hope to share some of them after we get rolling. If you’d like to print your own cards there is a link below. I printed mine on white card stock for durability. Alright y’all, let’s get out thankful on!

I Am Thankful For You Because..

3rd 100 Happy Days Link-Up

Hi Friends!

We are so excited you are joining the 100 Happy Days Link Up. If you would like to know a little more about how this party got started we would love for you to check it out.

This week has gone by so fast! Here are a few things that have made me happy this week (and last).

  1. While saying bedtime prayers with our 16 month old little boy, after saying Amen, he put his little prayer hands together. This just made my Jesus loving heart skip a beat! There is really nothing that brings me more joy than to see and hear my children building a relationship with God! Their wonderful preschool also plays a big part in building this foundation; so, they also make me very happy!
  2. My Man, that good lookin’ husband of mine! He makes me happy. There is something about a man who can get his hands dirty outside, play with doll houses, pray for his family, enjoy some guy time ,and then complete my to-do lists that includes folding a load of laundry and scrubbing toilets. He is versatile! Annnnd  I seriously don’t know what I’d do without him.
  3. The backroad that we take on the way home is finally reopened! You know it’s a big deal when a school wide email gets sent out about it. We can now enjoy our 45 minute ride home as opposed to the 55 minute detour. It’s the little things, folks.
  4. The sharing. I throw a small party in my head every time I catch a glimpse of the kids actually sharing something. Usually it’s quite the opposite. The other day however, PG offered CW a bite of her apple, and reminded him to say please and thank you. This made me chuckle because she rarely says those words herself, without being reminded. But hey, teaching others is a good way to teach yourself, right?  Here’s to the days ahead of blissful playtime and perfectly mannered children 😉 Eh? Eh!
  5. Essential oils! They helped Eric and I kick flu like symptoms yesterday! I’m telling you people, these oils are bottles of amazingness!

I hope your week has been filled with smiles and happiness and not too much halloween candy 🙂

Uni and Leo (Halloween 2015)

Another great Halloween is in the books! This year was lots of fun because both kiddos could actually walk up to the houses to get their candy. This year PG went back and forth (daily) on what she wanted to be. It started as a Unicorn, then a dragon fly, then there was mentioning of an angel, or a ghost, but ultimately we settled with a Unicorn…. mainly because when I finally decided to ditch the DIY costume plans, that was all Target had left. I took that as our sign, A Unicorn. Clayton William was the most adorable lion, ev.ER!, RAWR! Thanks to his Moonie for snagging that costume at her favorite store 🙂 The lion costume was actually perfect, fitting, and quite traditional, as Eric was also a lion around the same age.

This year we teamed up with the same group of friends as last year and took on their neighborhood. Sadly, I’m pretty sure we will never have trick-or-treaters in our neck of the woods. We went with a potluck chili dinner and I also brought this delicious pumpkin dip, which was a hit and super easy to make! Check it out!

I loved watching them walk up the houses together. And their tails :)))

This wagon was a life saver! The only way to trick-or-treat with littles!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween! Now onto Thanksgiving!
