While being thankful shouldn’t only occur during the month of November, I do find it to be a great time to talk about thankfulness with my children. So often all I hear is I want, I want, I want… and truthfully, I find myself lost in the same thoughts. But what about all that we already have?! Our gracious God is the giver of all things and he desires us to be content in what we have. Not only content, but thankful.
-Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17-
This month PG and I are getting intentional about our thankfulness. I created little “I am Thankful or you because…” cards and each day I sit down with her and she chooses one person the is thankful for. I ask her why she is thankful for him or her and I write it on the card. My plan is to mail these cards or hand deliver if possible. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with; 3.5 year olds really have a way with words 🙂 I hope to share some of them after we get rolling. If you’d like to print your own cards there is a link below. I printed mine on white card stock for durability. Alright y’all, let’s get out thankful on!
